Job Description

This role is open to candidates who have previously held a CEO role at an International Airport with a traffic of minimum 8 million passengers a year.

The Company

An International Airport Operator going through a major infrastructure redevelopment programme.


The Position

  • To be the focal point for financial and commercial decisions ensuring compliance with both governance and internal processes.
  • Provide professional commercial expertise to the company and advise on commercial related issues for all technical, legal and other functional interfaces with the Project
  • This will include being involved in the lifecycle of assessing the viability of business projects, through hands-on research, risk assessment, due diligence reports and establishment of robust review processes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinating development of the company commercial agreements with the Project
  • Ensuring the provision of effective commercial and legal interaction and engagement to company, acting as focal point for commercial and legal reviews, advice and controls activities to ensure work is adequately prioritized, planned and executed and that objectives are met
  • Provides clarification of, and guidance, in response to related commercial queries, and provides commercial support on engineering activities related to the Project
  • Provides commercial support to legal activities related to the Project 
  • Provides commercial support to financial activities related to the Project 
  • Liaises with the Project Team to ensure that all commercial related issues are dealt with as required. 
  • Attends all external reviews when appropriate and invited
  • Proactively involved in identifying and resolving potential commercial interface issues
  • In conjunction with CDO (Chief Development Officer), collaborate and build effective working relationships with key stakeholders and business partners across the business, influencing and negotiating with such parties as required. 
  • Engage in dialogue to understand the requirements and expectations of those in Senior Management Team 
  • Contributing to monthly, quarterly and annual reports on costs and progress as requested by Terminal Interface Manager


Required Demonstrated Experience

  • Post Degree holder, preferably in Business Administration, Finance or Industrial Management
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in working in a multinational or large organization is required; relevant industry experience will be advantageous
  • Knowledge of tax and regulatory requirements such as competition law and airport regulation
  • Knowledge and experience of all facets of the commercial contract negotiations from IPA, or Term Sheet stage to execution of fully terms agreements
  • Knowledge and experience of turnkey contracts would be an advantage
  • IT literate and fully conversant with Microsoft Office suite 
  • Ability to work in a Team as both a leader and player and open to new ideas
  • English speaker, excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Significant experience in financial reporting involving projects and contracts. 
  • Proven strong negotiation and conflict management skills, ability to influence without authority. 
  • Excellent business acumen, demonstrated strong analytical and creative thinking ability. 
  • Possess excellent written and spoken communication skills. 
  • Multi-tasking and ability to handle pressure while working under tight deadlines. 
  • Able to work independently and as a team player, working with own team and across teams. 
  • Positive attitude and self-motivation
