Programme Director – Airport Development Project To hold overall responsibility as the Person in Charge to ensure successful design and construction of the expansion an existing and operational airport. This will involve the development of wide range of new facilities, to include: Passenger terminal Expanded duty free shops Food and beverage outlets Baggage handling systems New passenger boarding bridges New runway Expansion of main apron to accommodate  aircrafts and parking provision for aircrafts Increase to fuel storage capacity Improved Cargo terminal   The Programme Director is the client-side representative, acting as a main point of contact for the day-to-day management of the client interests in the successful management of the airport expansion programme.   This is a demanding role that will require strong programme management skills along with the ability to successfully interface between all parties (i.e. Developer/EPC Contractors/Engineering Consultancies).   The Programme Director is responsible for ongoing management on behalf of the client to ensure that desired programme outcomes and objectives are delivered.   The successful applicant must have the required knowledge of airport expansion projects to be able to make informed decisions that are key to the project’s success.   Key responsibilities : Provide leadership and direction required to complete the construction of all aspects of the expansion Give continual direction with regards to the scope and cost evaluations of all aspects of the project Manage communications and negotiations with architects, engineers, and contractors throughout the design, development, and construction of the project Set and adjust priorities to meet strategic goals Pro-actively drive forward the project to a successful completion Apply quality management principles and processes Apply risk assessment and management principles and processes Network effectively, negotiate well and influence people Broker relationships with stakeholders at all level within and outside the project Be aware of the broader perspective and how it affects the project    Required demonstrated experience : 15+ years’ relevant industry experience 10+ years’ experience focused on programme/project airport construction projects Proven background in delivering large-scale design & build projects A background of having worked for Engineering Consultancies and EPC Contractors along with previous ‘client-side’ experience would be an advantage Relevant Engineering/Architectural qualifications Recognized Project Management qualifications preferred Proven ability to deliver presentations to multiple stakeholders Strong negotiation and influencing skills Experienced in defining ‘scope of work’ and awarding contracts Able to lead, motivate, mentor, and promote a collaborative working environment IT literate and fully conversant with Microsoft Office suite English speaker, excellent oral and written communication skills Significant experience in financial reporting involving projects and contracts Proven strong negotiation and conflict management skills, ability to influence Excellent business acumen, demonstrated strong analytical and creative thinking ability Possess excellent written and spoken communication skills Multi-tasking and ability to handle pressure while working under tight deadlines Able to work independently and as a team player, working with own team and across teams Positive attitude and self-motivation
